Sis, You’re Not Stuck—You’re Being Prepared
Hey Sis, Let's Talk About Feeling Stuck
I know it’s been a while—my last blog post was all about introducing myself, and now here we are again! I felt led to write something new to encourage you—and honestly, to encourage myself too—for those moments when you feel stuck.
Let’s be real: feeling stuck isn’t a one-time, “take this pill and move on forever” kind of thing. It’s a natural part of life. In different seasons, we all feel like we’re not progressing. Maybe you’re watching others move forward while you feel like you’re standing still. Maybe you had a plan—by this age, I’ll have that. Or maybe you started something, and it seems to be moving… but at a glacial pace.
Whatever the situation, that “stuck” feeling sneaks up on us, and we have to face it head-on. So how do we do that?
I don’t have a permanent fix, but I do want to share some tips that have helped me—and I pray they help you too:
1) Read the Word & Tell God All About It
I get it—it's so easy to turn to Google for answers. But when we turn to God, the only one who truly understands our hearts, we receive peace and clarity that no search engine can offer.
One scripture that speaks to me deeply is Mark 11:24:
“I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.”
This reminds me that I can bring everything—the good, the bad, the ugly—to God. So take yourself into that secret place, grab your tissues (because yes, the tears may come), and just pour your heart out. God loves you—He’s listening.
2) Practice "Stop and Replace" Thinking
One of the toughest habits to break? Toxic thinking.
The “I’m not good enough, that’s why I’m stuck” thoughts are not just harmful—they are not from God. They attack your identity and distract you from His truth.
When those thoughts creep in, stop them and replace them with scripture.
Try this: If you're feeling like you're not enough, say out loud:
Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.”
2 Corinthians 10:5 also reminds us to take every thought captive.
This takes practice, sis—but over time, replacing lies with truth will shift your mindset.
3) Focus on You and Stop Comparing
There’s a saying—not scripture, but still wise—“The grass isn’t always greener on the other side.” We don’t know the full story behind someone else’s success. Sacrifices, challenges, and hidden struggles are often unseen.
Comparison steals your joy and shifts your focus away from what God is doing in your life.
Instead, focus on the work in front of you:
Galatians 6:4-5
“Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else. For we are each responsible for our own conduct.”
God has you on a unique path. Walk it proudly.
4) Reflect on the Season You’re In
As you pray for your next season, take time to reflect on where God has you now. What might He be trying to teach you?
I think about the story in Mark 11:12-14, 20-21, where Jesus cursed the fig tree. It had leaves—suggesting it should have fruit—but it didn’t. It wasn’t the right season for figs, but the appearance was misleading.
That makes me think: What if God wants to develop fruit in this current season, so you’re ready for what’s ahead? Don’t rush through it. There may be preparation happening that you can’t yet see.
We don’t want to look fruitful and be empty when it matters most.
Sis, feeling “less stuck” might not come from doing more—it may come from trusting more.
I hope these tips encourage you to talk to God about your feelings, change your thought patterns, stop comparing, and reflect on your current season with fresh eyes.
